What is StudyWithLuna?

At its heart, StudyWithLuna is your personal AI companion, Luna, designed to help you learn Mandarin. We're leveraging insights into how memory works and combining it with smart AI to help you "hack" the learning process. You get to choose what kind of Mandarin you want to learn – focusing on topics that actually interest you, from manga to medical texts, or even deciphering those tricky food receipts!

Our Approach to Learning (The "Luna Method")

• New Frontiers: What we're doing here is pretty new. While we've built Luna's "engine" with current research on memory formation in mind, this specific combination of AI, personalized topics, and memory techniques is our unique experiment. There isn't a stack of decades-old research papers validating this exact method – we're on the cutting edge, and you're a part of that exploration! As a commitment to transparency and the spirit of open knowledge, if we ever decide to move on to other projects, we will change our GitHub repository for StudyWithLuna from private to public, allowing the community to learn from and build upon our work.
• Will It Work for You? Honestly, it might not work for everyone. Learning is personal. We believe many will find Luna incredibly effective, especially if you're looking for a fresh approach. The Free Plan (learning those first 3 "unknown-to-you" radicals) is your best test. If you find that process engaging and the method makes sense to you – if it feels relatively easy or sparks your curiosity – then you're likely a great candidate for learning with Luna.
• No Magic Wands for Fluency: We can't promise you'll be reading ancient poetry or debating philosophy in Mandarin in just a few weeks. Real language learning takes time, consistent effort, and dedication – from your side too! Luna is a powerful tool to make that journey more efficient and enjoyable, but she's not a shortcut to instant fluency.
• Learn What You Love: The real power of Luna comes from focusing your learning. If you train on manga-related Mandarin, you'll get good at that. If you choose medical terms, you'll build vocabulary for that. This targeted approach means you're learning what's relevant and useful to you, faster.

What to Expect from Your Plan (e.g., the €5 Student Plan)

Our Student Plan (currently €5/month) is designed to give you a solid toolkit and a significant amount of content to make serious progress. For your €5, you get:

• Full access to Luna's Premium AI guidance.
• The ability to learn and master 150+ foundational Radicals, with Luna remembering your progress on each.
• A wide variety of quizzes that adapt to you (and you can even tell Luna if you're bored so she can switch things up!).
• The ability to choose one specialized subject to focus your vocabulary and reading practice on (like manga, tech, food, etc.).

Now, let's be super clear about what this means for your progress. If you sign up for the Student Plan and spend a month learning your radicals and focusing on, say, "Mandarin for Gamers," you'll make great strides in understanding and reading gaming-related Mandarin.

However, this doesn't mean that after one month and €5, you'll be able to understand all the fast-paced, colloquial dialogue in a TV drama subtitle. That level of comprehension requires a much broader vocabulary and deeper cultural understanding, which comes from much more extensive study over a longer period. Think of the Student Plan as giving you powerful tools and a focused path to build a strong foundation and specialized knowledge in an area you choose. It's a significant step on a longer journey.

If Things Go Sideways (Downtime)

We're dealing with technology, a global network, and sometimes, well, our server monkey might just need an unexpected nap. While we'll always do our best to keep StudyWithLuna running smoothly for you, occasional hiccups can happen.

If the site is offline for a significant stretch (say, more than a day due to issues on our end), we believe in making it right. We will always make sure to add back any time you lost on your subscription, plus some extra days on top as a thank you for your patience. We don't have a super rigid formula for the "extra," but we'll be fair and generous because we value your trust and your commitment to learning with Luna.

Your Role in This Journey

• Engage & Explore: The more you actively use Luna and the materials, the more you'll learn.
• Give Feedback (Especially Beta Users!): You're our pioneers! Your insights help us make Luna better for everyone.
• Be Patient with Yourself (and Luna!): Learning a new language, especially one like Mandarin, is a marathon, not a sprint. Some days will be easier than others. Luna is smart, but she's also learning how best to teach you.
